  • Metallic green-blue back, iridescent silver flanks, white belly at sea; large spots absent from back and fins, including the tail.
  • Fine black speckling may occur on the back; this is not the large oval spotting of Chinook or rainbow.
  • Spawning fish turn red-bodied with green heads; males develop a hump and hooked jaws.
  • This record is explicitly not kokanee. The alias 'sockeye' must not resolve to the landlocked record.
